Description

As an olfactory reminder of the city of Guilin, China, Absolue d'Osmanthe is a contemporary take on an essence centuries old. Osmanthus flowers bloom in Spring and Fall and fill the Guilin valley with a dreamy fragrance.

For 2,000 years this apricot-scented flower has bewitched more than one victim. Osmanthus is an evergreen tree that has a slow growth that takes it up to 5/10 meters in height, and it usually comes with many branches.

During the fall and early spring season it is studded with a myriad of fragrant white, red and orange flowers. The best variety is also known as the most fragile.

The fruits are dark red and resemble olives (hence the name olea fragrans).

Jasmine Sambac and sandalwood reinforce the enigma that characterizes this fragrance. The heady base reveals an aroma where vanilla, Tolu balsam and labdanum create a perfect harmony.
