Shanghai the mysterious, Shanghai the romantic, Shanghai the inscrutable and, above all, Shanghai the improbable. In the early 1930s Shanghai was a city like no other. A melting pot of cultures, ethnicities, individuals, politics. British spies, Soviet agents, wealthy tycoons, journalists, revolutionaries and intellectuals. The Shanghai of the 1930s was an extraordinary city in an unusual time.
A powerful and distinctive oriental floral fragrance with deep, heady and suave notes.
The top note features a fresh earl grey green tea accord that blends perfectly with the elegant narcotic tuberose, which in turn has a sweet oriental base.
The base is mystical and somewhat finely powdery with typically oriental ingredients, supported by an elegant musky accord that gives the fragrance long-lasting character and sensuality

NOSE: ARTURETTO LANDI
Career or vocation? Arturetto Landi started out as a chemist and came to the world of perfume by chance. After graduation, he went to England with the intention of learning English as a prelude to a career at sea. That changed when he got a casual job with a perfume company. His training led him to H&R in Holzmainden; his career took him to New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Vienna before landing at MANE Dubai as a senior perfumer in 2005.
Landi's perfumes are opulent, complex and composed like a grand opera for the nose. He thanks his father, a chef, for his love of sensuality. His childhood on the Italian Riviera also has a great impact. Rather than drawing inspiration only from the past, fragrance designer Landi is also very happy to do so from faraway places. In particular, he loves the scents of Arabia.
